My experience has been very similar to yours (even down to searching LW/ACX/SSC before searching the general Internet), but I don't think I'd word my conclusion the same way. I think I went from having a pseudo-"soldier mindset" masquerading as a scout mindset to something closer to a real scout mindset. I'm still working on improving my ability to question things that confirm my biases, but I think I've come a long way since first finding the community with ACX back in early 2021. In other words, I wasn't "reshaped" but I was "honed".
As for showers or optimal tooth brushing, that sounds like something someone should do a literature review of.
